A Mom's Perspective
Zuzu started with my daughter, Zara.
Being Zara’s mom taught me that getting dressed isn’t always as simple as picking out an outfit. I learned to notice things I never thought about before. The feel of a fabric. A seam. A tag. A waistband. The pieces she reached for again and again, and the ones she wanted off immediately.
There were so many times I wished I could find clothing that considered those things without making her look or feel different.
That feeling became Zuzu.
We’re creating the clothing I wanted for my own daughter. Thoughtful, comfortable and beautiful enough to simply feel like clothing she loves wearing.
Zara is the reason I started looking at clothing differently. And she is at the heart of everything we are building.
A Dad's Perspective
Some of the smallest moments are what shaped Zuzu.
As Zara’s dad, I’ve learned that comfort can change an entire day. Something that may seem small to someone else, like the feel of a fabric, the fit of an outfit, or one uncomfortable detail, can matter so much to her.
Being her dad has taught me to pay attention differently. To be patient. To listen even when she may not be able to tell me exactly what is bothering her.
That same thinking goes into Zuzu. We want to create clothing that considers the details our kids cannot always explain, while still giving them something beautiful to wear.
Zara is a big part of why we started. Being her parents is what keeps reminding us who we are designing for.
